Activists of the Jubo League blocked a major highway to stage a sudden protest, causing severe disruption to traffic and public life. Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the spot, cleared the blockade, and detained three individuals to bring the situation under control.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of Jubo League members gathered on the highway in the afternoon and started chanting slogans. They blocked the road, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides of the highway and creating a long traffic tailback, causing distress to commuters.
Police officials stated that they tried to persuade the protesters to leave the highway peacefully. However, when some protesters threw brickbats at the law enforcers, police chased them away, cleared the road for traffic, and detained three suspects from the spot.
Following the incident, additional police forces have been deployed along the highway and surrounding areas to prevent further unrest. Police said they are maintaining a strict vigil, and legal action is being taken against those detained.
