A major reshuffle has been made in the top ranks of the Bangladesh Police. Seventeen senior police officers, including two Deputy Inspectors General (DIG), have been transferred to new posts. The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification regarding these transfers.
According to the government order, among the transferred officers, two hold the rank of DIG, while the remaining 15 are Additional DIGs. They have been posted to Police Headquarters, various ranges, and specialized units. Officials stated that this reshuffle is part of regular administrative procedures.
Sources from the Ministry of Home Affairs indicated that this decision was taken to make the police administration more dynamic and to improve the quality of service. The transferred officers have been directed to join their new workplaces immediately. The notification stated that this order will take effect without delay.
Such reshuffles in the administration and police department are considered routine processes. However, experts believe this move will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order and making field-level police operations more active in the coming days.
