The traditional Jashne Julus, a grand religious procession celebrating Eid-e-Miladunnabi, has been held in Chittagong. From early morning, hundreds of thousands of devotees gathered from various parts of the city to participate. Organized by the Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadia Sunnia Trust, the massive rally drew a sea of people, completely transforming the familiar look of the port city's streets.
This procession is held every year on the 12th of Rabiul Awal. It has become one of the largest religious festivals and traditions in Chittagong. The rally started from the Sholashahar Jamea Ahmadia Sunnia Alia Madrasa ground and paraded through key city streets. Devotees carried colorful flags, banners, and festoons, chanting praises of Almighty Allah and sending blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (SM).
In light of the massive gathering, the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) implemented special security measures. Traffic police regulated vehicle movements on various routes to minimize public inconvenience. Local residents noted that many volunteers stood along the streets to welcome the participants with drinking water and juice.
Following the procession, a special prayer (Munajat) was held at the Jamea Ahmadia Sunnia Alia Madrasa ground. Prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity of the country, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah. Organizers expressed gratitude, stating that the historic rally was completed peacefully and orderly with everyone's cooperation.
“Chittagong's Jashne Julus is not just a religious event but has become an integral part of the city's cultural heritage. The peaceful gathering of millions demonstrates that with proper management and harmony, even such massive events can be executed smoothly.”
