A transport worker was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants near the Sayedabad bus terminal area in Dhaka. The incident took place late last night. He was rescued in a bloody state and rushed to the hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead.
According to local sources and police, a group of miscreants attacked the worker while he was returning home after work. They stabbed him in the chest and back with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene. Hearing his screams, nearby people rushed to his aid and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Following the incident, tension and anger have flared up among the transport workers in the Sayedabad area. They have demanded justice for the murder and increased security in the terminal area. Police said they are investigating whether the attack was due to previous enmity or a robbery attempt.
Yatrabari police station officials stated that the victim's body has been kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being collected to identify the criminals. Police hope to arrest the perpetrators soon.
