Police have arrested a union Chhatra League president in Sherpur upazila of Bogura. Local police confirmed the identity and political affiliation of the arrested leader. He was apprehended from an area in the upazila last night on charges of creating public disorder.
According to the police, he was an accused in a violence and assault case filed after August 5. He had been under police surveillance for a long time. Based on secret information, the police conducted a raid and managed to arrest him.
Regarding the arrest, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Police Station stated that the law is equal for everyone. He was arrested based on a specific case. The police remain strict against any form of crime to maintain peace in the area.
Following his arrest, he was sent to the Bogura court this morning, which ordered him to be sent to jail. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area after the incident, and the situation remains under control.
