A young man was brutally murdered after being kidnapped in Tongi, Gazipur. The killers dumped his body in a drain inside the World Ijtema ground. Upon receiving the information, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for an autopsy, sparking widespread sensation in the area.
According to local sources, the youth went missing a few days ago. Despite searching in various places, his family could not find him. Later, allegations arose that the kidnappers demanded a ransom from the family. Police initiated an investigation using technology, which raised suspicion against one of the victim's friends.
Police stated that the suspected friend confessed to the murder during interrogation after being detained. Based on his information, the body was recovered from the drain at the Ijtema ground. Police officials suspect that the murder might have occurred due to past enmity or a dispute over money.
The victim's family is preparing to file a murder case at the local police station. Police are investigating whether anyone else was involved in the crime. The body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy, and police said a report will be submitted soon.
