Two twin sisters drown to death in Madaripur

Two twin sisters drowned in a pond while playing near their house in Madaripur Sadar Upazila. The tragic accident occurred this morning in a local village. The deceased toddlers were only one and a half years old. Their sudden demise has cast a deep shadow of grief over their family and the entire neighborhood.

According to family sources, the two sisters were playing in the courtyard in the morning while family members were busy with household chores. Suddenly, they went out of sight. After not seeing them for a while, the family members started searching. At one point, they were found floating in the pond next to the house.

Local residents and family members quickly rescued the children and rushed them to Madaripur Sadar Hospital. There, the on-duty doctor declared them dead after examination. Hospital doctors stated that the children had passed away before reaching the hospital. The incident has left the local community in deep mourning.

Following the incident, local administration and social workers urged parents to be more vigilant about child safety. They advised keeping a constant eye on young children, especially if there are water bodies near the house. Police stated that since the family had no complaints, the bodies were handed over for burial.
