Various programs have been organized today to mark the death anniversary of Bangladesh's National Poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam. Since morning, people from all walks of life and members of various organizations gathered at the poet's grave near the Dhaka University Central Mosque to pay their respects. Deep love and respect were expressed through floral wreaths and prayers.
Special events have been organized across the country to mark the death anniversary of this great poet of Bengali literature. Bangla Academy, Shilpakala Academy, and the Nazrul Institute have arranged discussion meetings and cultural programs. Special programs are also being broadcast on radio and television.
In the morning, family members of the poet paid their respects at his grave. Later, the Vice-Chancellor, teachers, and students of Dhaka University laid wreaths. Various political and social organizations also paid tribute, and special prayers were offered for the salvation of the poet's soul.
During the discussions, speakers highlighted that Nazrul's poems and songs always inspire us to fight against injustice. They emphasized that more initiatives are needed to present the poet's creations and ideals to the new generation. They called for building a beautiful society by embracing Nazrul's non-communal spirit.
