According to eyewitnesses, the public representative was insulted and harassed in front of local residents. Tension has been mounting in the area since the incident occurred.
Local sources revealed that a dispute had been ongoing between the UP member and the accused woman's family over a family and social matter for some time. Following this dispute, the woman suddenly attacked the UP member during an altercation on the day of the incident and insulted him publicly.
Following the incident, the victim UP member filed a written complaint with the local police station. On the other hand, the family of the accused woman claimed that the allegations brought against them are not entirely true.
Local police administration stated that they are investigating the matter after receiving the complaint. Additional police have been deployed to maintain peace and order in the area, and the police have assured that swift legal action will be taken against those found guilty.
“Incidents of assault or harassment against public representatives at the local level are highly concerning. The tendency to take the law into one's own hands due to political influence or personal disputes must be stopped. If the culprits are not punished through a fair investigation, the local governance system will be weakened.”
