Nepal Floods: Death Toll Rises to 691 Amid Severe Landslides

The death toll from devastating floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains in Nepal has risen to 691. Continuous downpours over the past few days have caused widespread destruction, submerging homes and leaving thousands of people displaced.

Local authorities reported that many people remain missing and injured. Rescue workers are recovering bodies from mud and debris in remote mountainous regions. The worst-affected areas are the hilly and riverbank districts, where damaged roads have completely cut off communication.

The Nepalese government has intensified emergency rescue operations in the affected regions. Army and police personnel, along with local volunteers, are leading the efforts. However, bad weather and damaged infrastructure are severely hindering the delivery of relief materials.
