Coast Guard rescues 12 fishermen from disabled boat in deep sea

The Coast Guard has rescued 12 fishermen who were stranded in the deep Bay of Bengal. Their fishing trawler had been floating helplessly for four days after its engine broke down. The fishermen were facing a severe shortage of food and drinking water when the Coast Guard team located and brought them safely to shore.

According to sources, the trawler set sail from the Cox's Bazar dock last week for fishing. However, after reaching the deep sea, the engine suddenly malfunctioned. Despite repeated attempts, the fishermen could not restart the engine, and due to a lack of mobile network coverage, they were initially unable to contact anyone for help.

As the drifting trawler eventually floated into a network coverage area, the fishermen managed to contact the emergency services and the Coast Guard. Upon receiving the distress call, a Coast Guard vessel immediately launched a search operation and successfully located the vessel and its crew.

The rescued fishermen have been provided with first aid and food. The Coast Guard confirmed that all the fishermen are in good health and are being reunited with their families. Authorities have urged fishermen to thoroughly check their engines and communication equipment before heading out to sea.
