Two motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident in the Salandar area of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila. The accident occurred this morning when a speeding truck hit their motorcycle. Police confirmed that they died on the spot.
The deceased were local residents. They were traveling on a motorcycle for their personal work in the morning. On the way, a cargo truck coming from the opposite direction ran over them, leaving the motorcycle completely wrecked and causing their instant death.
Following the accident, local residents rushed to the spot and blocked the road. Later, police arrived, brought the situation under control, and recovered the bodies to send them to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Although police seized the truck, the driver managed to flee.
Police said they are conducting drives to arrest the runaway truck driver. The family members of the victims are preparing to file a case at the local police station. A shadow of grief has descended on the area, and locals have demanded safer roads.
