An Australian hiker who went missing while trekking in the Himalayan region of Nepal has been rescued safely. After being missing for several days, a rescue team successfully located him. He is currently in good health and has been moved to a safe location.
The tourist had gone hiking alone in a popular mountainous area of Nepal. At one point, he lost his way from the main trail, and all contact with his family was cut off. Following this, Nepal police and local guides launched a major search and rescue operation.
The rescue team stated that bad weather in the mountainous region made the search challenging. However, they finally located him in a mountain gorge. After being rescued, he was given first aid and did not sustain any major injuries.
Nepalese authorities have advised tourists to be more cautious when hiking alone in mountainous areas. They especially recommended taking help from local guides regarding weather and unfamiliar trails. The recovered tourist will be sent back to his country soon.
