Clash Between Jamaat and BNP Supporters at Pallabi Bihari Camp in Dhaka

A major clash broke out between supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) over establishing political dominance at the Pallabi Bihari Camp in Mirpur, Dhaka. The incident involved chases, counter-chases, and stone-pelting, creating severe tension and panic among the local residents.

According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began with an argument over a local issue between activists of both parties, which quickly escalated into violence. Supporters from both sides, armed with sticks, attacked each other, leaving several injured who are now receiving treatment at local hospitals.

Upon receiving the news, Pallabi police station personnel rushed to the scene, used batons to disperse the crowd, and brought the situation under control. Local residents expressed constant fear due to such political confrontations and demanded peace within the camp.

While the situation in the area is currently calm, additional police forces have been deployed to prevent further clashes. Police officials stated that an investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the violence, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure security.
