Nepal Floods: Devastating Disaster Strikes Like a Movie Scene

Heavy rains over several days have triggered devastating floods and landslides in Nepal. The rush of mountain water and mud was so fast and powerful that homes and vehicles were swept away in the blink of an eye. Eyewitnesses described the destruction as looking like a scene from a disaster movie. Kathmandu and its surrounding areas have been severely submerged.

The weather department reported that this is the heaviest rainfall Nepal has recorded in several decades. More than 200 bodies have been recovered so far, and many people remain missing. Landslides on major highways have stranded thousands of travelers, completely disrupting the country's transport network.

Nepal's army and police personnel have been deployed for rescue operations in the affected areas. Helicopters and rubber boats are being used to move stranded people to safer places. However, damaged roads and collapsed bridges are hindering rescue teams from reaching many remote locations on time.

Environmentalists attribute this unusual and intense rainfall in the Himalayan region to climate change. Following this disaster, the Nepal government faces a massive rebuilding task. The main challenges now are rehabilitating the affected families and repairing the damaged infrastructure as quickly as possible.
